To my friend across the sea

I know life has been less than fair.

You live your life helping others in need

Helping some, that don’t seem to notice or care.

To my friend across the ocean

All the battles you’ve fought have left you beaten and broken

Yet kindness and love is what you have chosen

—

Though you’re far across the pond

Our words formed a bond

A friendship unexpected

In a world where we are tested

—

I am proud,

Of you

Of your heart

Of your accomplishments

Of your strength

And to be your friend, I’ll say it loud.

To my friend across the water

May the tides turn to peace and laughter.
